Important Update: Degrees from These Foreign Universities No Longer Recognized in Zimbabwe

Attention students seeking to study abroad! The Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE), the official body overseeing university accreditation in Zimbabwe, has deregistered seven foreign universities. 

This means that degrees obtained from these institutions will not be recognized by employers or for further education in Zimbabwe.

What Does Deregistration Mean?

According to ZIMCHE's announcement in The Sunday Mail, degrees from these deregistered universities are essentially worthless within Zimbabwe.

The deregistered universities include:

• Girne American University (Northern Cyprus)
• Sharda University of India (India)
• Near East University (Northern Cyprus)
• University of Kyrenia (Northern Cyprus)
• The European University of Lefke (Northern Cyprus)
• University of Nicosia (Northern Cyprus)
• Parul University (India)

Parul University and Gemma Griffiths:

It's important to note that Parul University, which recently appointed musician Gemma Griffiths as its brand ambassador, is also on the deregistered list. This means any degrees obtained from Parul University will not be recognized in Zimbabwe.

ZIMCHE's Warning:

ZIMCHE urges the public to be cautious when choosing universities abroad. Always verify the accreditation status of a foreign university before enrolling, especially if considering it for your children's education.
